About Tsanyawa Local Government Area (L.G.A)

Tsanyawa local government area is in Kano state, North-west geopolitical division of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are in the town of Tsanyawa and the area consists of several towns and villages which include Dumbulum, Bumai, Katsale, Kokai, Gurun, Kwandawa, Yanawaki, Farsa, and Baje. The estimated population of Tsanyawa LGA is put at 151,412 inhabitants with the area majorly occupied by members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in the LGA while the religion of Islam is predominantly practiced in the area. Notable landmarks in Tsanyawa LGA include the Central Primary School and the Tsanyawa Health clinic.

Tsanyawa LGA occupies a total area of 492 square kilometres and has an average temperature of 33 degrees centigrade. The average humidity level in the LGA is put at 26 percent while the average wind speed in the area is put at 10 km/h.


ECONOMY OF TSANYAWA

Tsanyawa LGA has a viable trade sector with the LGA hosting several markets such as the Dumbulum Cattle market which attracts several buyers and sellers. Farming is another important economic activity that takes place in Tsanyawa LGA with crops such as millet, sorghum, and rice grown in the area. Other important economic enterprises undertaken by the people of Tsanyawa LGA include hunting and animal rearing.
